Adrian Dunne Pharmacy Re-Launch

Last week I was very lucky to have been invited to the Re-launch of the Adrian Dunne Pharmacy on the Main St in Arklow. The team at Adrian Dunne had just given their store a "new look" and wanted to celebrate with all of their customers. To be honest it had been a while since I had been in the pharmacy, so it was lovely to get the opportunity to pop in and see what they had to offer

The store itself was fresh, bright and beautifully laid out.  It is well stocked with brand after brand, such as Sleek, Victoria Secret, Nuxe, So Sue Me,  Real Techniques, Flawless, Flomar, Vichy, Roger and Gallet, Essence, Catrice, O Wow Brush, the list is endless. I could have spent hours shopping (and of course my wages) with the amount of choice in the store. It really is amazing to see a local pharmacy stocked so well with the most sought after brands on the market, and to rival the larger more well known companies. Personally I loved the Flomar stand, and I haven't seen this much choice in the range anywhere else. On the day of the event the store had a massive 20% off their products, for all of their existing and new customers. East Coast radio also attended with balloons and entertainment for the kiddies, and of course there was food/treats for all of the customers. I got to cut the ribbon with the most adorable young boy called Darragh. It truly was a lovely experience

Working in retail, I always appreciate the detail the goes into a store, and most of all the service. The team were so friendly and I felt completely at home, there was a real "family feel" to the store and the staff looked like they genuinely enjoyed their jobs. They were not only friendly, but very helpful and knowledgeable, and I loved how they were on a 1st name basis with their customers. One of the young girls was chatting to an elderly man (who I assume had came in for his prescription) and she offered him a scone to take home with him, to have after his tea/dinner that evening. It was the sweetest gesture and you could see the relationships the team had built with their customers. It is genuine service like this that is lovely to see and can be hard to come by.

I honestly loved being involved in the day, and I would like to thank the team at Adrian Dunne Pharmacy in Arklow for a very memorable experience.  A massive congratulations to you all and the very best of luck with your beautiful new store. Make sure to pop in and say hi to the team,  I promise you won't be disappointed

Must Have Maternity Occassion Dresses

Hello and Happy Friday everyone,

I was asked recently if I could do a post on Maternity Occasion wear. I love nothing more than helping someone find something to wear, so I am always happy to help if I can. We all struggle from time when it comes to a big event, and being pregnant can be an extremely hard time for a woman as her body is changing fast and daily. I remember being pregnant myself and dreading an event or occasion because I couldn't fit into my usual clothing, I still wanted to look and feel fab and wear something that felt like me. Luckily there is a lot of choice on the market nowadays, some really cute and fabulous dresses, from brands to high street and to suit  all budgets. Here are the dresses I would personally wear (and that I think the girl that requested this post would look stunning in). I have chosen a few different styles from short to long, embellished to floral, and lace to chiffon. A massive factor when picking a dress is how big your bump actually is, small and neat would look amazing in a fitted dress, and a slightly larger bump would look perfect with a floaty/loose dress. So I hope you like my choices and if you need help finding a specific outfit or item for anything please message me I would love to help. xx

Daily Skincare Routine

A few months ago I was very fortunate to be given some fabulous products from my local pharmacy. It was one of the kindest gestures and I was completely overwhelmed, excited and dying to try them all out. Most of the products where from the Vichy Range and I had previously purchased 2 products from the range that I had written a blog post about (see the link below)

http://luvlisaxx.blogspot.ie/2016/03/review-vichy-idealia-serum-and-skin.html

My skin at the time was at its worst and my routine was minimal to non-existant. Fast forward a few months later and I now have a Skincare Routine that I sincerely see the benefits of.

First I must say that I have used so many different types of make-up removers, and this is by far my favourite. I have been and still use it everyday since I've got it and it has lasted such a long time. It is a purifying milk that feels gentle on the skin, has a light scent and your skin feels fresh and most of all clean after use. Its a 3 in 1, cleanser, toner and eye makeup remover. Another benefit is that it is perfect for sensitive skin. I love that its does all of this in one product especially because I tend to have very little time on my hands. I will definitely be stocking up on this again and I would highly recommend it

I had been using the Idealia Night Cream and  day Serum so I knew I would love the day cream too. The thing that stands out the most for me when I use these products is the smell. It is totally devine, light, sweet and it almost has a calming affect on you. I normally put the Idealia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream on before my foundation in the mornings. It helps even out my skin tone and I have noticed that my skin feels softer, has less blemishes and my make up applies easier. There was a time when I would be terrified to go without makeup but I am 100'% more confident now with my skin and I love how fresh and youthful it can look. Now I am not saying this is any sort of miracle cream, I do have the odd break out because I have a terrible diet and I certainly don't look like I've reversed time but there is a significant change in my skin for the better

I honestly use these products everyday and will continue to do so going forward. I love them and they really work for me, however I do advise if you are looking for products that suit your skin type please speak to a specialist that can inform you on how to make the right choices. I had always underestimated how a good skincare routine could benefit me. There is absolutely no point in spending money on expensive make up brands if your haven't taken care of your skin first. Its especially important as we age and while no cream is "magic" there is genuine science behind alot of  these products (some even years in production). For more information on any of the Vichy Products see their website www.vichy.ie or call into the girls Jean or Melissa in the Avoca Pharmacy for some skincare advice, they will steer you in the right direction

I'm in a glass case of emotion

Its been a while since I've written a personal post, and strangely enough they are my favourite ones to write. However my life has felt a little hectic lately and honestly a big part of that is my own fault. I like to keep myself busy, it gives me less time to think. I had a few rocky weeks where I really wasn't feeling myself. I'm a highly emotional person and I've never really hidden that, sometimes I think its important to show emotion and then there are times when I wish I could hide it more, some people can see it as a weakness. I was waking up in the mornings upset, even crying. No real reason why, I just didn't feel right. I couldn't put my finger on it exactly but to try and describe it would be to say that I had a million things going on in my head and I didn't seem to know what I should be focusing on. At one point I was worried that I was becoming a little depressed and I don't like to use that word lightly. I wasn't even in the humour to blog or be on snapchat and that is my favourite way to take my mind off of things. Everything and almost everyone was annoying me, I was in a total "bitch mode" and I'm not embarrassed to say it. I sometimes think we are so caught up in showing how amazing everything is in our lives that we can become more focused on showing "happiness" rather than actually being happy. I would love nothing more than to wake up happy everyday but that's not always reality, some days are great, some days not so much and then I have really shitty ones too. Its hard when you go through a patch of "shitty ones" in a row. Everything seems so bleak and everyone else looks like they haven't a care in the world, their lives are just sailing along perfectly. Obviously that's not true, everyone goes through their own fair share of crap. Of course I agree that you should always work on your "own grass" but its god damn hard when everyone elses "greener than green grass" is filtered to feck all over social media.

I'm only 34 but I get stages when I panic and I feel like I'm running out of time. There is still so much I haven't done, get married, buy a house etc and so many dreams that I might never get to achieve. The reality is that all of these things cost money, alot of money and I struggle with saving for them because I always want to live in the NOW. There is nothing worse than feeling like your just existing and I think daily life and routine can sometimes cause me to go a little stir crazy. Everybody has a dream/dreams but how many of us actually get to achieve them, this scares the living hell out of me. Now I don't want to drone on and on because I'm well aware that no one wants to listen to somebodies problems, and they are not really what you would call "problems" because my family are happy and healthy and that's all that matters the most. I wanted to do a small post to say that not everything is always amazing no matter how its portrayed. So if your feeling anyway like I have been, give yourself a break. Its okay to be "in a glass case of emotion" we all go through it, even the happiest people xx

Puma for ASOS

Hi everyone and welcome back,

Sometimes I forget that I worked in Sports Retail for a while and during my time there I realised how fashionable sportswear has become, more and more people are taking to sports brands for stylish apparel, and it is now a regular with designers on the catwalk known better as "sport luxe". With Celebrities like Rihanna, Rita Ora and Kylie Jenner becoming brand ambassadors for these well known brands (Nike, Adidas Originals and Puma) they have seriously upped their game and "street cred" in the style department. I was doing my usual "browsing online" (aka shopping for stuff I cannot afford) when I came across Puma's new range Exclusive to ASOS. I absolutely LOVE it, the rose gold, the leather look, the prints. Puma you've got it very right....What do you guys think, is it for you?
